·         Riverside, California, April 3, 2023: The SoCal Microelectronics Symposium, sponsored by the Global Semiconductor Association (GSA), was held successfully in the HUB at UC Riverside. The Symposium features a Keynote Speech by Peter De Dobbelaere (CISCO Fellow) and a Panel comprising outstanding industrial high-achievers, including Nitza Basoco (VP of proteanTecs), Shari Begun (VP of Sales, Renesas), Janet Olson (VP of Research, CadenceShari Begun (VP of Sales, Renesas) and Cindy Sun (Director of Engineering, Qualcomm). With a theme of Pathways to Success, the Symposium aims to promote Microelectronics to students of all levels, particularly those from Underrepresented Groups (URG).

·         UC Riverside, November, 2022: Created jointly by Prof. Albert Wang of UCR and Prof. Behzad Razavi of UCLA, the “Creative ECEs: UCLA-UCR Design Contest” was successfully conducted in Fall 2022. Sponsored by IEEE Electron Devices Society, Samsung and Mediatek, the Contest aims to engage undergraduate students, particularly those from underrepresented groups (URG), to participate in hands-on design activities in the broader ECE field. About 40 students participated in the Contest and presented their designs in the Design Contest Symposium.

 

 

  • San Francisco, California, December 4, 2022: This year is the 75th Anniversary of the invention of transistor (1947). A special celebration event was held by IEEE Electron Devices Society at San Francisco during its BOG meeting and IEDM 2022.

  • San Francisco, California, December 5, 2022: Albert Wang received the IEEE J. J. Ebers Award “for pioneering contributions to reliability of 3D heterogeneous integration in Integrated Circuits”. The Award is presented at the Plenary of IEEE IEDM 2022.

  • San Francisco, California, December 2019: Albert Wang received the IEEE Electron Devices Society Distinguished Service Award, presented at IEEE IEDM 2019.

 

  • NAI, 2018: Albert Wang was elected as a Fellow (Class 2018) of National Academy of Inventors (NAI). The induction was held at the Space Center Houston, TX, on April 11, 2019.

 

  

  • Washington DC, December 2010: Albert Wang was elected to Fellow of AAAS (Class 2010). The Fellow induction was held in Washington DC on February 19, 2011.

  

  • Piscataway, NJ, January 2009: Albert Wang was elected to IEEE Fellow “ for contributions to design-for-reliability and system-on-chip”.
